Grandma & Grandpa Corkie

Chris's parents came to visit us this week!
We had a great time!  The boys did lots of coloring, painting, and scratching their cool scratch boards Grandma Corkie brought for them.
We also did our traditinal trek to McKay's.  A good time was had by all!

Working in the Rain

Josiah and I spotted Poppa working out the window today, and we decided he should go down for a little visit.
Caleb decided to join them, and the visit turned into a work party.
Work was followed by mud puddle jumping and truck climbing.
With plenty of engine-inspecting on the side.
The joys of having boys!

What We've Been Up To

Caleb has been learning his letters.
Starfall.com is the place to be for learning letters and their sounds!
Josiah is starting to take things apart and put them back together.
We washed Caleb's car seat, and Josiah decided to put it back together.  He couldn't figure out how, so this is him taking apart his seat to figure out how to put Caleb's back together.  He ended up with two carseats taken apart instead of one, but it was just too fun to watch.  He's making a face like Chris would make in a similar situation.  Cute!
We've been picking wild flowers.
Caleb has started picking flowers for me any chance he gets.  I love it!  At night, when I'm tucking him in, he often tells me about the flowers he'll pick for me the next day.
I've been doing a little crafting.
Come to me with all your bunting and monogrammed pillow needs!

Josiah Is Five!

We have a big five year old in our house!
Here is a sneek peak inside his head - for posterity's sake.

What is your name?
Josiah Shibley...Josiah Christopher Shibley
(I Taleb Shibley...I Taleb Daddy Shibley)
(Comments in parentheses will be Caleb's remarks.)

What animal would you like to be?
A cow.
(I like be...a twee!)
Cause I have a cow costume.
(And I want be a twee tostume.)

What would you like to do when you grow up?
Go to school.  I would like to learn how ladybugs taste with their feet.

And after you get out of school?
Probably, I would like to eat hot sauce.

And what kind of job might you have?
I will work where Dad works.

What will you do?
I will work with my Dad.  We could build a house.  We could build a fan.  We could build a computer.
(With your tool 'tuff.)

If you could have any animal for a pet?
It would be a bird.  'Cause I would let it sit on my arm.  I would pick some bugs for it.  I'll build a nest for her.  At the walking track.

Who are your best buddies?
Caleb and Lydia and you.
(No, I not.  You're my Momma.  Don't say that to mine Momma.)

What are your favorite things to do as a five year old?
Play with my 'The Claw' (Toy Story) toy.

What is your favorite book?
Charlotte's Web.

Movie?
Toy Stories.
(And Aladdin.)

If you could go anywhere in the whole wide world, where would it be?
To Lou's house.

Somewhere further away than that?
Jonathan's house.

If you could be any person for a day, who would it be?
I think I would be a Spark, because I finished AWANA Cubbies.

Tell me a reason you love your daddy.
I love him because he stays home with me on Craft Night.  We watch all kinds of movies.  He makes popcorn.  He lets me stay up super-duper late.

Tell me a reason you love your Mommy.
I love you because you let me come and sleep under your bed.

And Caleb?
'Cause he's my brother.

Anything else to tell our readers?
I want to tell Great Grandmother about my new toy.  I really have a 'The Claw' toy.

The best thing about being five is that I had a Potato Head pinata.

And your favorite verse?
"God is Love."
And "God created the heavens and the earth."  . . . 1:1.
