I think I missed Caleb's birthday interview, so I thought I'd record a snapshot of him at age 7 and 5/12.

Eleonora & Her Brothers

Can you spot the little girl?

This morning, when the boys were getting ready for school, they decided to get Eleonora ready for the day in one of their outfits, too!

On this night, Eleo decided to borrow a pair of monster jammies to be like her brothers.

But even with two brothers, this is how you're most likely to find Eleonora lately - sporting her pink sunnies or wearing a tutu (or two).

I love how these three love each other and have such fun together!

School Carnival

February Books

I'm afraid February wasn't a great month of reading around here.  The boys and I got hung up in 'The Wind in the Willows' for nearly 3 weeks.  The cover you see above may look sweet and entertaining, but Josiah says, do not judge this book by its cover!  This was the dullest book we have ever made it through - and we have made it through Moby Dick!  We listened to it as an audio book, for 7 hours to be precise, and in all that time, there were only two chapters that were a jolly good time.  How this book makes it onto lists of classic children's literature, I will never know!

I picked up 'All the Way Home' in the church library.  It was mildly amusing.  Historical fiction that follows the friendship of two girls, starting around the bombing of Pearl Harbor and ending with the Civil Rights movement in the south.  

Jennifer bought this book to give to Ashley for her birthday (Shh, don't tell!) and she took the dust cover off, and we both read it (Shh, again!) before she gives it to her on Friday.  Now this book was quite interesting, but only for a fan of the show 'Fixer-Upper.'  If you haven't tried the show, I highly recommend it!  And once you love the show, I highly recommend this book.  Chris even read the first chapter.

So there you have it.  The three books I finished in February.  I guess I set my standard a little too high, finishing nine in January.  Here's to a better month of reading in March!
