Decorating Grandmother’s Christmas Tree
I believe it might have been Josiah who pushed to start this tradition a few years back, but every Thanksgiving we love to set up and decorate Grandmother’s Christmas tree before we leave.
These kids did an excellent job decorating!

Grandmother wanted a silver theme this year, and the tree looked lovely!

Let the Christmas festivities begin!

McClain Family Band
Recently the “Original 5” plus Steven headed to Kingsport to see the McClain Family Band play with a symphony.
That left Chris behind to get the children to church and in their proper locations all alone.

He sent me this to show me they all made it!

We adventurers enjoyed breakfast on the road.

Then lunch in Kingsport with some of our favorite ladies in the whole wide world.

Then it was on to the show! A wonderful time was had by all.

Just wished we coulda heard ‘Never Picked’, ‘Milk Cow,’ or ‘When Ya Coming to Court Me’!

Muir Fest and Saturday Cleaning
Chris was going out of town on Saturday, so the kids and I decided to choose our own adventure. We rounded up Poppa, or he rounded up us, and we headed to Kingston for their second annual Muir Fest. It was delightful.
We missed the chance to help release sturgeon into the wild, but at least we got to see the last two swimming about in their cooler.
This place has great log cabins and fort-like structures and I only got away with a picture of Caleb in the stocks.
There was free paddle boarding and kayaking!
On the way home we stopped at this little park by Watts Bar and the kids were thrilled to discover that they live so close to a “beach”!
Siblings snuggled up in the back of Poppa’s truck.
And as the cherry on top of our lovely day, we did a good old-fashioned toy closet clean-out.
What a happy day with three fabulous kids and one fantastic Poppa!
