Summer Reading Program

Our library’s summer reading program ended today, and wouldn’t you know it, Caleb won a Hatchimal!

Eleonora

Everyone might remember Eleo’s chipped front tooth that she broke when it was brand new on the shuffleboard at camp.

On Wednesday, she got it fixed!  Woot!

Chris added stone on his fireplace as far up as the mantle (which he also added this week)!

And then we had the unexpected good fortune of getting to sleep out there with the whole thing when the air conditioning in our house went out. Ha!  (Not a real fire in that picture - it’s on a tv screen!)

Junior Week

Here is a wrap up of Junior Week. The kids in the art track made picture holders and got to have their pictures made for them. Caleb picked to have his girls in his picture.

This was Caleb at the end of the week, descending from his cabin.

Here is the boys’ group at their closing program.

The boys got to be in camp’s newest cabin - Al’s Nest. Yippee!

Josiah went and asked Mike if he could be a camper for Tween Week (11-13 year olds, Josiah will be 11 in September) and Mike told him yes, so that’s where he is. We will head up in a bit and see how the first night went for him!

Puppet Show!

The boys signed up for the Puppet Track. They were hoping for their Aunt Lou as their fearless leader, and things weren’t quite the same without her, but they had a good time nonetheless.

The cousins loved watching it.

Eleonora’s been enjoying her time at camp. She loves to color and swing.

The three of us left at home had a little night out on the town last night with a visit to the Screen Door Cafe and a walk around the walking track.

Happy Thursday to you!

Chickens!

My kids loved playing with our friends’ chickens. The other days. The boys took all these pictures except for the group shot. Pretty fun.

The Weekend

We had company in the kids’ bedrooms the other night, so we got to have a slumber party in my room!  We watched a little ‘Andy Griffith’ and ‘Dick Van Dyke.’

We also visited our Oak Ridge cousins for a birthday party, and the boys got to indulge in a little technology after the other guests all left, and they loved it!

All four of us snuggled up on the loveseat for family movie night this Friday.

And we all turned in an entry in the coloring contest of our local library’s summer reading contest. Eleonora turned hers in much earlier than the rest of us. That girl is a coloring machine!

This Week

We met up with friends at the Splash Pad.

A brother took this picture of his sister.

We had a huge yard sale on Saturday!

Here’s a cute old picture of Eleonora that I may not have shared before.

Today on the schedule we have a library visit and a trip to the walking track and getting our house ready for company and a camp job and piano lessons and piano practice and much, much more, so I better get busy!

Happy Friday!

Readers

I sent my kids to the porch to play outside the other day and then went out later to discover them like this.

Rain!

It has been raining cats and dogs all week here in beautiful Dayton, Tennessee!  Last night after Craft Night, Jenn was stuck in the soggy ground.

Chris came to the rescue with Heather’s Sports Utility Vehicle - which reminds me of a great song on the same topic by Larry the Cucumber of Veggie Tales.

Here’s Caleb checking out the damage this morning.

When Caleb saw that the biggest loop of the walking track was under water this morning, he said, “Sorry, Mom.  I hate to break it to you, but....Woo.  Hoo.”

Tomorrow is our Big Summer Yard Sale and we are supposed to have a sunny day for it!  I’ll let you know how it goes!
