Garden

Blast from the past.

Blizzy from the pizzy.

Back to School for Me

The kids received their postcards in the mail last week, telling them who their homeroom teachers would be. What a nice tradition!  When the boys were little, you just had to show up on the first day and roam the halls, looking for their name on lists by the teacher’s doors. This is much better!

Only teachers had to be at school today, so Eleonora had a lovely pool day with friends.

And the boys got to head over to Heather’s for a fun afternoon and sleepover.

Josiah made tacos for supper and Caleb is promising breakfast burritos for breakfast.

Eleonora and I just went shopping for her school supply list, and even though we first went through all of last year’s stuff to see what we could reuse (backpack, pencil pouch, scissors, headphones, etc.) AND I’ve seen those teachers’ supply cabinets so I sometimes skip the teacher Expo markers and hand sanitizer-type items (shh, don’t tell anyone), it was still $50!  Good thing the boys don’t care about school supplies!  We did get some very adorable school supplies with a prevailing theme of puppies and butterflies.

Grandmother’s House

Tidying E’s Room

Eleonora’s room got pretty messy with all those little girls playing in there at the shower.  She went home with her cousins after the party, so I used the opportunity to do a little organizing. Her closet looking  much tidier. Her suitcase goes there on the right when she isn’t traveling.

So much better!

I left this area for when she came home.

Here she is now, sorting the dregs. The hardest part of any organization project for me. I got her started and now I’m sitting on her bed, blogging and giving all sorts of encouraging remarks like, “Hurry it up!” and “Pick it up, put it in a pile!”  Ha!  It’s almost time for both of us to go to bed to be ready for my first day of school in the morning!

Back-to-School Shopping with Eleonora

The boys didn’t even want to go back-to-school shopping, so Eleonora and I headed to the big city alone last week.  Her pick of shoes and mine.

There were so many cute clothes for her to try on!  Not quite the same in the teacher clothes department.

We had the best time together.

She fits in the biggest size of cute little girls’ Carters clothes.

There were so many cute woodland creature shirts that we didn’t know how to decide!

I told Eleonora I didn’t mind if she picked these big, black shoes but that they reminded me of Caleb’s shoes.

So a few days later, she put them on and did her best Caleb impressions. Fun times!

Heather’s Baby Shower

We hosted Heather’s baby shower here on Saturday for Micah James.

You may not be able to tell from the pictures but over 40 friends showed up!

Sweet Aunt Terry came from Knoxville.

These are the ladies who stuck around til the end and helped clean up. Lots of them brought delicious food as well.

Cousins.

Laurel and the lion.

The final clean-up crew. What good boys.

And then Eleo headed to the Habs for a sleepover.

We got the beautiful flowers from Amanda’s garden!

And the boys decided that since Saturday night was my last night of summer break, they better sleep in the living room to celebrate. They watched Pete’s Dragon. I was in and out visiting my garden and doing a little organizing in Eleonora’s room.

A lovely Saturday!
