A Season of Gifts

Another goal for 2017 is to finish 50 books.
Caleb says his favorite part was the headless white rats, of whom I personally have no memory.

Christmas Morning

As you are undoubtably aware, Christmas came on a Sunday this year.
We knew Chris would have to be at church by 9, so we told the kids they could wake us up anytime after 5 to do gifts.
So it came as no great surprise to find ourselves opening stockings at 5:02.
We had planned to save each of their main gifts for the afternoon, but round about 5:45, we decided there was still plenty of time before church.
Caleb has been asking for this Lego set, he calls it Benny's Blue Spaceship, for at least two years.
He was convinced that it would never be his.
So he was pretty excited and surprised to open that puppy up!
Josiah's big surprise was a Kindle. He wasn't quite sure what it was at first, but he has quickly fallen in love. We can check out library books for him on it - up to 12 at a time - and we can never get fined for turning them in late, they simply disappear. I especially love that he can only read books on it, he can't connect to the internet, play games, or even search for books himself. He has already read about 8 books.
We had a very merry Christmas morning!

Goals

Happy New Year!

One of my goals this year is to get rid of 1,000 things. I have a feeling I do that most years, but I'm going to try to keep track, just for fun. One of the reasons that I love to find things we aren't using any more to take to Moms4Moms is because I am so blessed by the things other moms donate that I can use. Check out my haul, just this week!
Pretty good, eh?  Sometimes I get less, sometimes more!  As for my goal, so far I have found 63 items to bid farewell to. Here's to 937 more!
