Unit 5 & AWANA

Josiah finished Unit 5 of his piano lessons this week.  Lesson 100 is a fun duet - he can play either party.  Caleb and Josiah both had to give a little concert to their aunt and then to their grandma this afternoon.  They're proud of their new skills.
AWANA started Wednesday night!  Josiah is in T&T for the second year.  It is Caleb's third and final year of Sparks, and Eleonora started Cubbies!

Haircut

Eleonora had her first haircut yesterday, at the ripe old age of 3 and a half.  I don't suppose it really counts as a haircut, more of a trim, since all the hairs I cut appear in the picture above.  They're tinted green from the pool, and that doesn't seem very cute for a baby book momento, so I have to admit they're soaking in lemon juice right now.
Here she is after the haircut, holding our lone watermelon we grew this summer.  We are going to eat it to night for supper.  I hope it's tasty!

Pneumonia Lung

Caleb has his annual case of August my-yonia lung.
Here he is enjoying a little breathing treatment before school yesterday.

On another note, he has his first fall soccer practice tonight.
Here he is at the soccer clinic they do before they divide them into teams.
I got this picture from our local online newspaper.

Solar Eclipse

To view the total solar eclipse last Monday, we went to a party my dad organized at the top of the mountain at a fire tower.  There were 12 in our party, and we enjoyed climbing up and down the tower and snacking while we waited for the total eclipse.  There were others there from Bryan College, and as far away as Hershey, Pennsylvania.  Heather's friend took these cute pictures of Eleonora while we were there.  She was doing some ballet (as usual).

Here is our family snacking and viewing.  Chris and the boys built some solar viewers out of cereal boxes.  In this picture, Chris is trying to take a photo of the view inside the box with his phone.  It was a beautiful place, and cooler and breezier than usual during the event.
Chris rubber-banded Eleonora's glasses to her face for part of the party.

It was a spectacular sight, and a grand time was had by all!

Water is Your Friend!

We have spent at lot of time at the CSBC pool this summer!  The boys swam every day they were campers.  Eleo swam on lots of our lunch breaks.  We go every Sunday after church for lunch and a pool party, and my mom almost always invites us up after school for an afternoon swim.
Eleonora loves to jump in off the edge and swims all over in water-wings or her little PuddleJumper.
This is the second summer that the boys have spent in the deep end with these old masks (that don't even have straps anymore) pressed to their faces as they jump in and get things off the bottom of the 8-foot end of the pool.
