Heather’s Surprise Birthday Party

We Craft Nighters have a bit of a tradition of celebrating each other’s 30th birthdays with a surprise party. This week, it was Heather’s turn!  We chose a camping theme.

Amanda made her a beautiful homemade cake with a woodland creature theme.

Was she surprised?  Hard to say!  But the rest of us had fun squeezing in Eleonora’s tent to hide before her grand entrance!

Happy birthday, dear Beanos!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Eleonora enjoyed her second ballet lesson last night.

We enjoyed a fun French toast breakfast this morning.

The boys made these fun Valentine’s boxes to take to school all by themselves. Pretty cute!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Ballet

Eleonora started ballet class this week!

I always thought we would wait til a kid was 6 before they started an extra activity like this, but this girl loves dancing so much, we couldn’t help ourselves.

First day!

Can you spot her?  Her back has a tear-drop hole.

She loved it so much!  At the end of class she asked when her “real class” started - I think she was looking for the stage.

Pocket Wilderness

We intended to hike on Saturday, but ended up at Ponds & Plants instead. Since Sunday was beautiful, too, we headed out for a little hike after church and lunch.

There were great icicles left over from the cold weather, but in the sun, it was warm and toasty.

There was ice all along the edges of the creek as well.   The highlight for Eleonora was the two chickens wandering around the parking lot.

The boys loved swinging on vines and climbing around in the woods on the side of the trail, which made our actual forward momentum quite slow. Nevertheless, a lovely time was had by all!

Ponds & Plants

Saturday was so beautiful after all the cold, grey weather last week. We decided to go visit Ponds & Plants.

The kids loved looking around the pet store - there was everything from fish and birds to snakes and monkeys.

Outside, there were gardens and sculptures to walk through.

There were beautiful peacocks wandering around, and gigantic koi swimming under a layer of ice.

A wonderful time was had by all!
