Chalking

Aunt Terry came to town to help me chalk up some new pictures to use in my classroom.

Jennifer has already given me her hand-me-downs to borrow.

My cousin Shannon and her family were here for Fun Day and to spend the night, so she got in on the chalking fun.

Josiah popped in to show us a frog. It was the darkest specimen I had ever seen.

Shannon’s lovely art work.

Aunt Terry is the chalking master!!

Heather swooped in at the end to gift me with this sweet hedgehog reading a book.

We had a great time with the chalking, and the Traceys, and playing Bolivia and a pancake breakfast at church, and then we ended the weekend with a Small Group cookout with friends on Sunday night (Eleonora had to borrow her friend, Wesley’s, bathing suit.)

Happy Memorial Day!

Last Day of School!

Today was the last day of school for the boys!

We picked up their report cards and took pictures with each of their teachers.

Caleb and his teacher were super proud of all his AR points. 322.5. That’s lots for a second grader, apparently.

We met the cousins to celebrate at the playground with the orange twisty slide.

Then Josiah volunteered to make our lunch. Yes, please!!

Then we took the boys to get their first real haircuts since Josiah’s infamous last haircut when the lady quit halfway through when he was a wee little chap. Josiah loved it today. Caleb was not thrilled - it was his first professional haircut experience of his life. Ha.

Here we are in the Kohl’s dressing room. You can see by the picture how well that went.

And last but not least, we had an evening adventure to Athens for a delicious supper and a damp walk with Poppa.  Here he is enjoying his new technology.

A wonderful first day of summer break!

Poppa’s New Boat

My dad got a new hand-me-down. A little boat!  He dolled it up and took us on his inaugural voyage.

I’m hoping we can go hunting for arrow heads when the water level drops!

A lovely time was had by all!

Eleonora and Anna Kate

Eleonora and Anna Kate have been having a great spring together. Today they attended Lydia’s kindergarten graduation together.

I’ve already showed you one of these, but the boys loved it when the girls came to visit them while their classes were at the city playground.

AWANA

AWANA is over for the school year. All the kids finished their books - Caleb did his twice, plus an extra packet!
Chris and I enjoyed another year of Date Nights, thanks to the generosity of my mother taking the kids on date nights of their own, and then on to church each week!  Thanks a million!

Spring 2018

Hello, everyone!  So sorry for the lack of posts lately. This spring has felt nice and busy, but there’s no such thing as too busy to blog, so apologies. Ha.

Today I’ve been working on the boys’ gifts for their teachers. You can’t see so well, but I used our vinyl cutter to add their names to these fun buckets

I’ve been working lots in our yard between breakfast and lunch (when it’s the coolest), so these toddler women have got to play outside together a lot!

I’ve been working on mulching around the log cabin, and I’ve added a few more azaleas and more iris.

Often the girls figure out how to match outfits for the day, but on this day Eleonora wanted to be twins with me. :)

We got to visit Josiah’s class while the 4th grade was at the local playground. He was so excited to see his girls!

Eleonora and I have attended plenty of soccer practices.

This was the hottest and the last!

In other news, Eleo’s best buddy got 6 chicks!  (And Heather is chicken-sitting them this weekend, of all things!)

These girls love to go shopping for plants!  (Surely!?)

Last year the weeds came right up through the pine straw, so this year I tried a layer of cardboard underneath. I will keep you posted on how it holds up!

So there you have it!  I hope you are enjoying this beautiful spring!  Summer time’s a’comin’!
