This Week

We met up with friends at the Splash Pad.

A brother took this picture of his sister.

We had a huge yard sale on Saturday!

Here’s a cute old picture of Eleonora that I may not have shared before.

Today on the schedule we have a library visit and a trip to the walking track and getting our house ready for company and a camp job and piano lessons and piano practice and much, much more, so I better get busy!

Happy Friday!

Readers

I sent my kids to the porch to play outside the other day and then went out later to discover them like this.

Rain!

It has been raining cats and dogs all week here in beautiful Dayton, Tennessee!  Last night after Craft Night, Jenn was stuck in the soggy ground.

Chris came to the rescue with Heather’s Sports Utility Vehicle - which reminds me of a great song on the same topic by Larry the Cucumber of Veggie Tales.

Here’s Caleb checking out the damage this morning.

When Caleb saw that the biggest loop of the walking track was under water this morning, he said, “Sorry, Mom.  I hate to break it to you, but....Woo.  Hoo.”

Tomorrow is our Big Summer Yard Sale and we are supposed to have a sunny day for it!  I’ll let you know how it goes!

Starting Summer Break Off Right

I found all the kids snuggled up together watching a cartoon on Monday morning (in the pack-n-play that was still set up from the Traceys’ visit)!

The boys’ handwriting and writing skills in general are rather weak, so we’ve been having fun with a bit of writing!  (I love Josiah’s face!)
We made our most delicious batch of baked oatmeal yet!

Poppa took us for a great boat ride with Bean!

And we also helped Heather sort and organize her possessions. And that was just Monday and Tuesday!

Happy summer to us all!

Chalking

Aunt Terry came to town to help me chalk up some new pictures to use in my classroom.

Jennifer has already given me her hand-me-downs to borrow.

My cousin Shannon and her family were here for Fun Day and to spend the night, so she got in on the chalking fun.

Josiah popped in to show us a frog. It was the darkest specimen I had ever seen.

Shannon’s lovely art work.

Aunt Terry is the chalking master!!

Heather swooped in at the end to gift me with this sweet hedgehog reading a book.

We had a great time with the chalking, and the Traceys, and playing Bolivia and a pancake breakfast at church, and then we ended the weekend with a Small Group cookout with friends on Sunday night (Eleonora had to borrow her friend, Wesley’s, bathing suit.)

Happy Memorial Day!
