Soccer and a Hot Tub
Caleb is part of a fun soccer team this fall! We have enjoyed heading to watch his games each Saturday morning. (His coach used to be my camper!)
One Saturday morning, after a good game, Caleb asked Chris if he wouldn’t like to finally hook up our hot tub as a little (ha!) reward for his goal. You might not believe it, but he did! We’ve had the hot tub sitting in various places on our property for at least a couple years, and it was finally time! (Funnily, the hot tub was given to us by Caleb’s coach’s parents when they were remodeling their deck and decided they didn’t want it anymore.). Eleonora and I were busy with something else after that, and the three boys worked on it all day! (Ooh, and the next day, Chris finished painting that last side of the house grey!). It’s right outside the wall of the butler’s pantry, in a spot we have never really utilized.
If you pick the right spot, you can sit in the dining room and watch the kids swim. Chris had to install that electrical box and crawl around in the cellar and more, so we all started to appreciate a little more the reason he hadn’t been super excited to get to this project.

It took a while to warm up, but the kids kept getting in anyways! Our yard is completely encircled by hedges and wooden fences except for this one spot that is chain link. Before we started this project though, there was lattice on the side of this side porch that blocked our view of the neighbors and we rarely had a reason to go back there anyways. Chris cut down that old lattice because eventually he’s going to help that old deck out a little bit, and we were talking about what we could do along this area so our neighbors didn’t have to watch us (probably just extend our wood fence). But they beat us to the punch and started building this super high lattice wall almost immediately! Oopsie! Now we will just have to figure out how to keep weeds from growing in between. I was working a little on those weeds in that little section of fence (that we didn’t really see much before) the other weekend and got covered in poison ivy!
So far, we have enjoyed using it often!

Tumbling
Eleonora has been joined by a good buddy at tumbling, and her cousins are thinking of joining up next!
Good Sunday Morning!
The boys whipped up breakfast for the kids this morning before church. It was our second Sunday back in the building, and I got to be the substitute teacher in Caleb’s Sunday School class. I offered to bring the rhythm instruments for a fun little singing time, but he didn’t feel it would be appropriate. Ha! Oh, and the story for the day was the Triumphal Entry because that’s where they had left off in March!
