Caleb's Big Boy Bed

By the end of the summer, Caleb was becoming an escape artist from his crib.
Here he is in his crib for the last time!
And here he is in his new bed, and new room - with a door - to prevent midnight wandering.
It took a week or so, but he's back to his old wonderful sleeping-12-hours-a-night self!

Josiah's 4th Birthday Party

On September 9, Josiah and his Gwamma celebrated another birthday together.
The theme was 'UP', one of the birthday kids' favorite movies.
See Carl hiding in the trees?  You will know him by his glasses.
Streaming streamers in the forest is a good time - who knew?
Balloons - get it?
A birthday parade!
We did bubbles and chalk painting.
Some favorite gifts included a fishing pole.
And an alien game.
Josiah said, "You have been chosen!" when he caught one.
The boys loved this gigantic teeter-totter in the woods.
Cousin Jonathan had a great time exploring the wild!
And so did Carl & Ellie!

As a new 4 year old, you love to do puzzles, play in the sandbox, read books, and play with Caleb all day long.  You say the funniest things every day.  You and Luke are still partners in crime in your Sunday School class.  You still aren't much of a sleeper or eater.  You're starting to read words like stop, monkey, and piglet.  You like going to the walking track and playground with friends, story hour at the library, and Cubbies.

Happy 4th birthday, Josiah!
We love you so much!

Hello again!

Hi!  We have had a wonderful summer!
The boys are so cute.  So funny.
Caleb is using the potty and has moved from his crib to a toddler bed.
Josiah loves to talk to anyone who will listen and 'read' his first book this week, 'Biscuit.'

Caleb & His Daddy

This is how Chris carries home a boy that isn't wearing a diaper.  See Caleb dangling?  Funny man.  Fun daddy.

Camping

Our fun little family of four went on a camping adventure.
The state park was full, but we kept on trucking and found a nice little campground to park our Pea.
Josiah is showing off a perfect doughboy, made by yours truly.
A doughboy is simply canned biscuits, stretched around a stick and carefully cooked over the coals.
Delicious.
Especially if your biscuits happen to have little butter flecks in them.
And now, a picture of Chris making a doughboy, taken through a doughboy.
Blurry only because my doughboy was still piping hot and putting off steam.
Now you can see him more clearly.
What a handsome hubby.
P.S.  Sometimes the falling asleep part of camping is not that fun with two small children.  Just so you know.
P.P.S.  Overall, a wonderful time was had by all!

Pizza Fun

Can you guess where Jennifer and I took the boys a few weeks ago?
This large mouse is a hint.
 They were just thrilled!
 Aren't their expressions so sweet?
We had a great time!
