The boys have a beloved Sunday School teacher named Ms. Connie.
They found this wig in their dress-up bin and started pretending to be her.
I wonder if she would be flattered?
After church one Sunday afternoon, Caleb said, "There was a song in my class today that I wouldn't sing because it wasn't true. I didn't believe it!" I was very curious and eventually figured out that the offending song was 'He's got the Whole World in His Hands.' Caleb explained, "Jesus is in our hearts. How could He hold people in His hands while He is in our hearts? It's not true, and I don't believe it, so I wouldn't sing it!"
Josiah stays with us in big church now and during a sermon the other day our pastor played a clip of a symphony warming up and them performing. Halfway through, Josiah piped up loudly, "Beethoven!!" Everyone around us started smiling, because he was right, and he was so embarrassed. When he got in the car he said, "I really wish I didn't say that! I didn't like all those people smiling at me!"
And one more by Josiah...
"When I grow up I'm going to be a scientist who believes in God. And I'll write a book and it will say 'To Jessica' on the front page. And I'll sell them buy one-get one free....that's a good deal!"
